Rain at Public Estate

Jas’s photoshoot, initially planned for Shatin, was interrupted by sudden rain, halting our outdoor session. Undeterred, we took a spontaneous detour to the nearby Hin Keng Estate in Tai Wai, a 40-year-old public housing estate built in 1986 by the Housing Authority. Its unique Y2, Y3, and Y4 layouts stood out, blending diverse architectural styles that immediately drew us in.

The estate’s features, like a dome skylight casting a warm glow over the escalator atrium and playful curvy ramps winding through the shopping and food centre, added charm. A colourful soffit bridge connected the phases, creating a vibrant atmosphere—especially striking on sunny days. Despite the rainy weather, Hin Keng’s distinctive backdrop brought joy to Jas’s photoshoot, turning an unexpected visit into a delightful adventure filled with laughter and memorable shots that captured her radiant spirit.
